It is still so difficult to be out and proud, and my art celebrates coming out as a mythic, iconic, and spiritual process. There were many gay Greek gods and demigods, and queerness was once celebrated in many cultures. There are many LGBTQ themes in Hindu, Aztec, and Greek mythologies, and many more the world over. My art is about recovering the past and celebrating the future.
